In Irénée-les-Neiges, a small, isolated town with a population of 215, Simon Dubé dies in a car accident and the stunned townspeople are reluctant to discuss the circumstances of the tragedy. Something descends slowly upon the area. In this period of mourning and in this fog, ghostly strangers start to appear. Who are they? What is happening?

CaVideoFest is a joyous communal experience, only available in theaters, and also helps raises money for cats. A percentage of the box office will be donated to Winnipeg cat charity Darcys Arc.

Director, professor and Fulbright scholar Nietzchka Keene’s stunning newly restored debut feature The Juniper Tree is loosely based on a Brothers Grimm fairy tale of the same name, and stars Björk in her first on-screen performance. Set in medieval Iceland, it follows Margit (Björk) and her older sister Katla as they flee for safety after their mother is burned to death for witchcraft.

Cinematheque is an intimate movie theatre devoted to screening the very best in Canadian and world cinema. More than just screening films, we also provide artist talks, panel discussions and special events to feed the minds of cinema fans.
OUR LOCATION

We’re located in the heart of Winnipeg's historic Exchange District in the Artspace building. We are across the street from Old Market Square at the corner of Arthur Street and Bannatyne - one block west of Main.

The Winnipeg Film Group is located on Treaty 1 Territory and on the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene Peoples and in the homeland of the Métis Nation. We offer our respect and gratitude to the traditional caretakers of this land.
