**SOLD OUT**

“Come join a new workshop with old Kevin McDonald, the old guy from the old Kids n the Hall (that’s who he says he is anyway). In this workshop, Kevin (If he doesn’t fall asleep) will teach the students about the finer points of acting in comedy sketches. Yes, Kevin will draw upon his 78 years in sketch comedy to teach you things that people don’t even think about – like how big do you go in a sketch.

He will start the class by giving a fun lecture (this is a lie – how can a lecture be fun) on the secrets of how to act and be funny in a comedy sketch but not at the expense of the audience believing in the sketch. He will then show some classic comedy sketches (some of them will be Kids in the Hall sketches and he apologizes about that) and break them down about why the performances work and why some of the performances don’t work.

He will then get the students up other feet and improvising – stopping and starting the scenes to give details about how to improve what they’re doing and how they’re acting. At the second half of the class, the students will be broken into different groups and each given parts in an old Kid in the Hall sketch. They will get time to rehearse these sketches – with Kevin leading the way, directing them and giving notes. Then at the end of the class, each group will perform their sketches in front of Kevin and the rest of the class – with Kevin giving incisive notes (we hope to God their incisive – we’re paying him enough).

So come to Kevin’s workshop/show – where he will also tell many Kids in the Hall anecdotes. Probably too many. You will  probably end up asking him to stop telling Kids in the Hall anecdotes.” Oh and there’s an hour lunch!
