2018 Windy Award Winners Announced – $2750 in Cash Prizes Given Out!

The 3rd annual Windy Awards were held on Saturday, April 7 at the Winnipeg Film Group’s Cinematheque in Winnipeg’s historic Exchange District.

The Windy Awards are designed to provide special recognition to independent Manitoba cinema. Each winner received a glass statue and a cash prize, totaling $2,750 spread over 10 awards.

The event was wittily hosted by local actor Gordon Tanner and the awards were presented by a variety of sponsors and community members. See photos from the event on our Facebook page.

William F. White Award for Best Cinematography ($150 Prize)
Mia – Gabriel Levesque

Buffalo Gal Pictures Award for Best Editing ($150 Prize)
Hands On – Trevor Hnatowich

Winnipeg Film Group Award for Best Production Design ($150 Prize)
Boy Toys – Desiree Deleau

Jazz Winnipeg Award For Best Score ($150 Prize)
Descrambled Eggs – Kevin MacLeod

On Screen Manitoba Award for Best Screenplay ($150 Prize)

We’re located in the heart of Winnipeg's historic Exchange District in the Artspace building. We are across the street from Old Market Square at the corner of Arthur Street and Bannatyne - one block west of Main.
