Afro Prairie Film Festival (Feb 19-23, 2020)
The Afro Prairie Film Festival is the first Black-centric film festival in the prairie region of Canada. Our five-day festival celebrates Black cinema across North America and promotes the work of established and emerging Black filmmakers from right here in Manitoba. Participants are welcome to a weekend filled with programming that explores Black narratives in filmmaking.
Canada’s Top Ten Film Festival (January & February 2020)
The 19th edition of Canada’s Top Ten films, as curated by the Toronto International Film Festival, presents a superb line up of new independent cinema – from Zacharias (Atanarjuat) Kunuk’s latest moving story set in the North, One Day in the Life of Noah Piugattuk, to Heather Young’s Murmur – a compassionate look at an older woman who finds meaning in her life by adopting pets.
