Architecture+Design Film Festival: Backstage Vienna State Opera

Available to rent Sep 16-20
Directed by Stephanus Domanig
2019, Austria, 96 min
German with English subtitles

This title is available to rent via Cinematheque at Home. This is not only an opportunity for our patrons to see new cinema, but is an important way that they can continue to support independent film during this pandemic with 50% of all sales supporting our theatre.

Rapid pace, precision, craft and creativity, small gestures and great efforts lead to the magic that the opera produces every night. The documentary shows the wonderful energy that the daily routine produces behind the scenes of the Vienna State Opera.

Sponsored by University of Manitoba, Faculty of Architecture.

Now in its ninth year, the Architecture + Design Film Festival (A+DFF) presents critically acclaimed films focusing on the importance of architecture and design in everyday life. The films cover a range of design-oriented topics from architecture and urban design to graphics and product design. A+DFF is the only festival in Canada devoted solely to architecture and design. This festival is generously supported by The Manitoba Association of Architects, The Winnipeg Foundation, the Faculty of Architecture Endowment Fund (University of Manitoba), and presented in partnership with Urban Idea and the WFG Cinematheque.
