Held over! Plays May 8 - 29
Directed by Carlo Mirabella-Davis
2019, USA, 94 min
So intense was Swallow‘s film debut at the Tribeca Film Festival one audience member fainted. In this superb psychological feminist horror film actress Halley Bennett gives a terrific performance as a newly married woman with a hidden secret. Soon after discovering she is pregnant she develops a compulsion to consume objects. Though it starts to take over her life she soon realizes she must confront the mystery of her past. Winner of several awards, Bennett captured the Best Actress Prize at the Tribeca Film Festival and Brooklyn Horror Film Festival.

Reviews
Swallow is quietly riveting, spinning a Douglas Sirk idyllic facade on its head. The film is honestly as close to perfect of a thriller as one can get, it has surprises around every corner. An excellent film that I can’t wait for everyone to see.

A provocative and frequently brilliant thriller about the patriarchal control over female bodies. Mirabella-Davis has crafted a sharp and surprising modern fable around a woman whose environment has been weaponized against her since birth.
