A workshop specifically for intermediate/advanced actors to develop new techniques to be authentic and powerful on stage and on screen. In this two-day on-camera workshop, Arne MacPherson will work with you to enhance your skill set, go out of your comfort zone, and create a deeper awareness of your physical body and emotional senses.

 

Arne MacPherson is a Winnipeg-based theatre maker, theatre educator, on-camera performer, and film-maker.

He has appeared in over thirty professional film and television productions shot in Manitoba, most recently as a principal performer in the Liam Neeson feature film Ice Road, shot in 2020.

Arne is one half of Inside Edge Productions, which produced the 45-minute documentary Both Alike In Dignity, for MTS Stories From Home in 2016.

Some of the theatre productions Arne has directed are: How It Ends (sick + twisted), The Threepenny Opera (sick + twisted/AA Battery), Hamlet (The Bunchback’d Toads), Deserter (Moving Target), Sargent and Victor and Me, Stretching Hide (Theatre Projects Manitoba), Head, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest (Shakespeare In the Ruins), Harvest, Magical Mystery Munsch (Prairie Theatre Exchange), The Walworth Farce, Such Creatures (Incompletely Strangled).

He has also directed many student productions, at the University of Winnipeg Department of Theatre and Film, and the Prairie Theatre Exchange school.

Arne played the title role in Shakespeare’s Dog at the Manitoba Theatre Centre and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, and has performed in shows at Prairie Theatre Exchange, Theatre Projects Manitoba, Winnipeg Jewish Theatre, and in many independent productions, including Molotov Circus, which he performed with his partner Debbie Patterson and their two kids Gislina and Solmund.

Devised theatre and contemporary dance performances include: I Trace You, You Trace Me (Weather Parade Dance Theatre), petites danses (Chartier Danse/Gearshifting), Much Too Much to Say (Company Link/Zorya Arrow), The Island (núna/lokal), Embargo (One Trunk Theatre).

Arne is a founding member of Shakespeare In the Ruins, for whom he served as Artistic Head for a term, and is a founder of núna(now), an Iceland/Canadian Art Convergence started in 2008.

The Winnipeg Film Group reserves the right to cancel any course where the minimum registration has not been met. Anyone registered for a course that has been cancelled is eligible for a full refund, Cancelled course fees may also be used towards any other Winnipeg Film Group training programs.
