Are you interested in screenwriting? This two-day workshop will focus on helping you take the next step and learn all of the basics of screenwriting! Develop your screenwriting craft through the exploration of story structure and character development. Upon completion of this 2-day workshop, students will understand film story structure, character, conflict, and dialogue in feature screenplays and shorts. Only 8 spots available.
Day 1
The first day will focus on introducing you to the craft of screenwriting. You will cover the following areas:
-theme as your compass
-coming up with dynamic characters
-tone & setting
-establishing your world
-writing the treatment
-setting goals for your writing
Day 2
The second day will examine in more details the art of screenwriting. This will include:
-character-driven structure
-writing a grid & outline
-writing the first draft
-touching on different approaches in independent screenwriting
