Unearth

Available to rent for $8.99
April 21 - May 20
Directed by John C. Lyons & Dorota Swies
2020, Canada, 94 min

This title is available to rent via Cinematheque at Home for $8.99. This is not only an opportunity for our patrons to see new cinema, but is an important way that they can continue to support independent film during this pandemic with 50% of all sales supporting our theatre.

A fracking horror story, “Unearth” follows two neighboring farm families whose relationships are strained when one of them chooses to lease their land to an oil and gas company. In the midst of growing tension, the land is drilled, and something long dormant and terrifying, deep beneath the earth’s surface is released. With a great cast including Adrienne Barbeau (John Carpenter’s The Fog and Escape From New York), P.J. Marshall (American Horror Story and the Netflix series Mindhunter) and Marc Blucas (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) directors John C. Lyons and Dorota Swies have fashioned a gripping ecological tale of horror set in the insecurity of a crumbling farm economy.
