Ronnie’s

Available to rent for $8.99
March 19 - April 15

Ronnie’s is an exceptional story about one of London’s greatest ever institutions – the jazz nightclub Ronnie Scott’s – one of the last remaining vestiges of old, bohemian Soho. Chronicling an incredible journey through late 50s and early 60s Soho, the film is not just for jazz fans; it also tells the extraordinary story of how two working-class Londoners (Ronnie Scott and co-founder Pete King) contributed to the cultural life of a great city, making it a vital social document. They were inspired by the vibrant post-war jazz venues they discovered on New York’s 52nd Street. Since then, Ronnie Scott’s Club has played host to the world’s greatest jazz legends. Featuring rare interviews and terrific unseen archival live performances of Chet Baker, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Dizzy Gillespie, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Ella Fitzgerald, Van Morrison, Buddy Rich and Nina Simone.
