Love Life

By Alex Ateah | 00:02:23 | Comedy, Experimental | 1/12/14

In this selfie-style video, the artist discusses the type of person that she imagines herself being with. Using exaggeration, voice manipulation, speed and repetition and adding tacky photographs, text, and transitions her goal is to mock, make fun of, and look realistically at her irrational thoughts.

Clamber

By Susan Turner | 00:03:26 | Animation, Experimental | 20/12/2016

The noise of the street, road construction, the screeching and clashing of large metal machinery gradually break down the artist’s psychic self-defense. She begins to consider isolation, loneliness, fear, and the feelings of being invisible. It becomes impossible for her to keep the external world out. A psychic migraine.

Trembling Like a Leaf in the Wind

By Susan Turner | 00:04:24 | Animation, Experimental | 20/12/2016

Using footage and audio of the last few months of her mother’s life (piano playing, coughing, breathing) and intertwining them with her own abstract images, the artist takes the viewer through her poetic narration of her mother’s last, quiet moments.

Sharhé Halé Shakhsi: M. Rankin

By Matthew Rankin | 00:03:00 | Narrative-Fiction | 01/01/2007

A Persian language autobiography of Iranian filmmaker, Matthew Rankin. Says Rankin, “This is the only honest film I have ever made.”

Polar Express

By Gwen Trutnau, Karen Asmundson | 00:04:52 | Comedy, Narrative-Fiction | 01/02/2014

The Carnival is back in town and Jim is hellbent for leather to ride the Polar Express and worship his ultimate fantasy: the airbrushed mural of the fur-clad polar goddess. A gender-bending heavy metal mid-way ride of ridiculous fun.

Nude Caboose

By Guy Maddin | 00:02:00 | Narrative-Fiction | 01/01/2006

A jovial shirtless man attempts to rouse a contingent of lethargic dancers to life in NUDE CABOOSE. His highjinks really get the deadbeats bustin' out until something unusual catches his eye. Dance floor seduction distilled into a fateful moment!
