FNC begins!

Oct 5, 2017

It’s a big month for film festivals here in Winnipeg and across the country. Cinémental enters its 26th year of French cinema (with English subtitles!), taking place in Winnipeg Oct 13-15 and Oct 20-22. Reel Pride runs from Oct 16-21 at the Park Theatre. WNDX Festival of Moving Image started last night at WFG Cinematheque and goes until Sunday, October 8.

Last night also saw the kick-off of Festival du nouveau cinéma in Montréal. Founded in 1971, FNC is an annual festival of independent films. This year, the festival runs from October 4 to 15 in various venues. Solomon Nagler’s hauntingly beautiful film, days of doubt, currently in distribution with the Winnipeg Film Group, is an official selection, screening Saturday, October 7 and Friday, October 13 as part of The New Alchemists Shorts 1 program.
