Fundamentals of a Short Film

$20.00$40.00

Tuesday, July 7th | 7pm-10pm | Zoom Session

*Note:  This workshop will take place on Zoom. You will receive an email with the link to participate.

Director and cinematographer siblings, Taylor and Ellaina Brown, are here to take you step by step through a few of their award winning short films “Refraction Sector” and “Model Citizen.” Both films were started and completed in the 48-Hour Film Contest, this workshop will explore how every aspect of how a film comes together and what pitfalls to watch out for. You will learn about their creative process and techniques to help create and complete your own successful films.

Taylor will talk about a director’s vision- what that role looks like at a small scale, how to take control of a project and build a team for success. Ellaina will discuss camera and lighting on a budget, where you should invest your money and how to promote your work on social media. Other topics that will be discussed include: pre-production, scheduling, working with actors, story, leadership and on-set experiences. We hope that their real practical advice will motivate you to start your passion project and give you the tools to finish it!
