TWO MANITOBA FILMS IN THIS YEAR’S SHORT FILM FACE-OFF

May 20, 2015

Congratulations to three Winnipeg filmmakers competing for the grand prize on the 2015 edition of the CBC SHORT FILM FACE-OFF.

BJ Verot and Brad Crawford’s Loss of Contact and James McLellan’s Period Piece will compete against 7 other finalists from across the country to win the coveted $45,000 prize.

The grand prize consists of $30,000 in cash and $15,000 worth of equipment rental to go towards the winning director’s next short film, which will air on CBC once complete.

In 2014 Winnipeg filmmaker Madison Thomas was the Manitoba finalist with her short film Out Of Reach.

This year the nine finalists will travel to Halifax to present their films in studio and on air. The studio panel will choose three finalists and the television viewing audience will ultimately vote for the top film.

The SHORT FILM FACE-OFF will air this fall on CBC. Be sure to tune in, vote and root for our two Winnipeg teams!

For more information on these films or the FACE-OFF please contact WFG Distribution Director Monica Lowe:
